胎牛血清是指胎牛血液凝固后,去除血漿中纖維蛋白原及某些凝血因子后分離出的淡黃色澄清液體,它是肉類加工業(yè)的一個(gè)副產(chǎn)品。
胎牛血清是細(xì)胞培養(yǎng)中用量較大的天然培養(yǎng)基,含有豐富的細(xì)胞生長必須的營養(yǎng)成分,具有極為重要的功能,一般添加比例為:5-20%。血清中含有各種氨基酸、維生素、無機(jī)物、脂類物質(zhì)等這些維持細(xì)胞生長必須的營養(yǎng)物質(zhì),也含有胰島素、氫化可的松、地塞米松、bFGF、EGF、PDGF、轉(zhuǎn)鐵蛋白等可促進(jìn)細(xì)胞生長的激素、生長因子及結(jié)合蛋白。此外,血清還有解毒、緩沖、抑制蛋白酶活性等作用保護(hù)細(xì)胞不受傷害。
